I used to struggle waking up anytime before 5. Honestly. I would wake up at 4:30 but hit the snooze 2-3 times before getting out of bed.
This constant cycle of just dragging myself out of bed had its time on me.. I was more sluggish and tired by the end of the day that it was killing my productivity.
At first I thought it was because some nights I would have a drink or two and that it is just what happens when you have alcohol… however, I started to realize that it was happening every day…. not just on nights I had a glass of wine.
But what was causing this???
And then it happened…. I didn’t realize something so simple would cause this reaction but I started writing in a gratitude journal AND I started defining my goals…. I listed out how I wanted to do a road bike race at 100 miles in 2020 because I only got 85 in 2019…..and how I wanted to do a triathalon for the first in 2020. And how I wanted to be more productive at work and help my team be more successful.
I mean my ideas just threw up in the page!!!
So here’s what happened…. my subconscious was starting to tell me something. I started waking up, without an alarm at 4:30 am….. I am serious here. I automatically woke up at 4:30. This happened for about a week… I Felt a little tired the first few days and even one day I tried to fall back asleep and just couldn’t….
By day 9 or 10 I decided I was a believer in the early wake up and I set my alarm to make sure I didn’t miss a day!!
It has been a little over a month now and my life is changed. I haven’t wanted unhealthy foods or alcohol, I’ve been able to workout more, I feel refreshed and clear minded….. I am getting so much more done and with INTENTION!!!
It is amazing!
So….. I’m not going to ask you to wake up tomorrow at 4:30…..but I am going to ask you to get your mind focused on something you dream of! Something you hope for and something you have always wanted to do…..then write it down…. and do it for a week…. or two…..
You may just find your subconscious wanting to get you up and get stuff done!!!!
